Renewable Energy for Resilient Agri-Food Systems (RERAS)

Overview

Daayitwa is one of the implementing partners of UNDP’s Renewable Energy for Resilient Agri-Food Systems (RERAS). Under RERAS’s enterprise development component, Daayitwa is working on the acceleration and incubation of rural enterprises to boost local employment and income in the remote hills of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. It is delivered in collaboration with UNDP Nepal and local governments across 10 palikas of Jumla, Mugu and Bajura. The component runs until May 2027.

About RERAS

RERAS is a UNDP Nepal project that links renewable energy solutions to the agri-food system, lowering production costs and increasing the local food supply. It began in July 2023.

Objectives

Daayitwa’s RERAS component supports entrepreneurs, with a focus on women & youth, to start and grow enterprises that strengthen local agri-food economies.

The component seeks to:

Approach

Daayitwa identifies entrepreneurs locally, builds their capabilities, and supports them through two tracks.

Key features of our approach:
